MobileInstallation 2.1 for iPhone 2.1

If you followed my tutorial “Download and Test iPhone Apps Before Buying From the App Store“, and then upgraded your iPhone to firmware 2.1, then, you need to perform the tutorial again using the patched MobileInstallation 2.1 file.

    I have followed the instructions and then restored from my backup. It turns out that I get an error message when installing applications. Looking around I have seeing two "strange" things. First the memory bar in iTunes has a huge "Other" that doesn't seem to make sense. Second insider the /var/mobile/Applications there are several folders that seem to relate to my previously running apps (before upgrading). I get the feeling that I have to either remove them or "re-institute" them some how. Any ideas? Thanks!

    What is the error message?

    If I were you, I'd delete all the apps I added in iPhone, perform again the tutorial and make sure every step is followed correctly, download an official free app from App Store, sync one hack app from iTunes and test. If that works, sync all apps in iTunes. Then try and download an .ipa file, install and test.

    Hello I have an iphone 3g with the fw. 2.1 quickpwn'ed and I tried to install with diskaid the mobileinstallation file but when i restart the phone i cannot use my phone. everything else works but the phone section does not work at all....

    First, was everything working after you Pwned your iPhone?

    Second, I don't think DiskAid can change file permisions in iPhone. Try Fugu or Cyberduck (Mac) or a similar program if you're using Windows.

    Try replacing back your original MobileInstallation file and see if your phone works. If not, you may have to Pwn your iPhone again prior to performing this tutorial again.

    I'm just a begginer. I learned to jailbreak an ipod touch. I tried to jailbreak it and play the games that were supposed to be cracked but my bad luck or something like that all the synced applicaton didn't work. It only shows, 'The Application"****" can't be opened. I found a site where i found the mobileinstallation patch 2.2.1 and my itouch version is 2.1. Please help me with my problem.
